Bad Luck Comes in Threes...

They say that bad luck comes in threes. I'm REALLY hoping that my stretch of bad luck is over now!

1. As you know I dropped my computer and had to have it fixed.

2. I left the changing pad on the diaper station at the zoo, and it was never turned into the lost and found. To most this wouldn't be a big deal, but it was super cute and matched my new diaper bag!!! Urgh!!!!!

3. I dropped the camera and it broke, so I had to replace it, hence the extra long span in a new blog update...

Keep your fingers crossed that GOOD luck finds me soon!!!!!!!

Testing out the new camera. Now if it would just make me look a few pounds lighter!

Sam earned a new nickname this week...Sumo Sam.

Jack was very interested in helping to test out the new camera. I really wish they made one that was kid-proof, along with being mom-proof!

The Target closest to our house is being demolished, and a new one is being built in its place. I'm sure our credit card bill will be much lower than usual until October, when the new one is set to open.

Hair Club for Men anyone? Most of Sam's hair has fallen out. He has peach fuzz in all areas except the ones you see here.

The Three Amigos. A little Saturday afternoon fun with hats.

3 Months!

Man does time fly! Before becoming parents we had know idea how true this statement is! Each and every day we feel so blessed to have two happy, healthy little boys in our lives. We spend a lot of time laughing, and watching them in awe.

"Cheating" Hearts

Much love filled the air in the Hanks House as we prepared for Valentine's Day.

Creating our Valentine masterpieces.

Modeling our Valentine masterpieces. Don't deny it you wish you had one!

My Grandma Dorothy was known for her famous, paper-thin, perfectly decorated Christmas cookies. I decided to try my hand at it an FAILED miserably! When I attempted to roll out the dough I couldn't understand why it kept sticking, and the cookies crumbled to dust. After many curse words (the boys were sound asleep in bed) and becoming more frustrated, as Tom "offered" up suggestions, I realized that I had put in two cups of butter rather than one. I cleaned everything up and decided I would attempt it again the next day.

Attempt #2 worked, because I totally "cheated"!

Jack didn't know the difference, and had a ton of fun decorating the cookies.

Who is your stylist? Maybe you could help with the Oscar hairdos...

Sam is tired of being inside. He decided that if he busted out his bunny jammies maybe the Easter Bunny would bring spring by a little earlier!

Welcome Brooklyn!

On February 2nd our dear friends, the Hoffes, welcomed their BEAUTIFUL baby girl. We had the opportunity to drop by their house and meet Brooklyn. (I can't tell you how excited I am to have friends who have a baby girl! Don't get me wrong I LOVE my boys, but would be lying if I said I didn't sneak a peek at the baby girl clothes when we are out shopping. Now when I see something super cute on the girl side, I have someone to buy it for!)

What a perfect family! Congrats Ryan and Jen, we can't wait to get Brooklyn her own giraffe tent! (heehee!!!)

Ryan already has the "sniff" test down.

This is such a great photo. Ryan and Tom have been good friends since high school, and now they're both amazing daddies.

Is there any question where Sam gets his apple cheeks from?

We took advantage of the nice weather and headed to the zoo. Sam enjoyed getting some fresh air, while riding in the stroller.

Jack enjoyed watching the lion. It was so cool. The lion came up to the window and started roaring. Let's just say I'm thankful for the glass that separated us from him!

In addition to the zoo we put on our rain boots and headed out in search of the perfect puddle. It must have been quite the sight, two adults and a two year old wandering down the sidewalk jumping in puddles.

Time to head home, now that my pants are soaking!

Jack decided that he didn't like Daddy's behavior and put him in a timeout.

A "Perfect" Week

We had a very fun week. We joined the "Y", went to the children's museum for the first time, and went to open gym at a gymnastics studio.

Sam was happy to get out of the house. He continues to be such a happy baby. In fact this week he decided that it was time to start sleeping through the night, or pretty close. We have been putting him to bed at 11pm and he has been sleeping until 5am consistently. I don't know what we have done to create such good sleepers, but I am so excited that the stars have aligned!

Don't you just want to kiss those chubby, little cheeks?!?!?! I do all the time, I figure I better shower the boys with kisses now, as someday (which will come all too quickly) they'll be wiping them off, saying "yuck".

Can you say pudgy baby?!?!?

Check out the new bus driver! The wheels on the bus go 'round and 'round!

May I pour you a spot of tea? Jack is practicing the proper tea etiquette in case he will have the opportunity to travel to England, like Daddy.

My boys! I love saying that!

To some this may look like a blanket over two chairs to crawl under. In Jack's world it is known as a tunnel. He loves to have Sam be the "tunnel watcher", and run in and out of the tunnel, while I cook dinner.

Nice outfit! I'm sure Sam had confusing dreams that night...football, puppies, ducks?!?!? Pick a theme and stick with it!

Tom doesn't request photos for the blog on a regular basis, but was sure to point out this blog worthy moment. Way to go honey! Keep practicing for the next Wii bowling tournament.

Grandma and Jack making donuts.

Grandma and Papa came down to visit this weekend. They kindly took Jack to see the trains at the Domes, as they change the exhibit daily, while Tom, Sam and myself went to begin shopping for our upcoming bathroom remodeling project. For those of you thinking it...yes this is the LAST major project we have on our house list. Now that we have pretty much run out of projects we are thinking of putting the house on the market this spring, once the bathroom is finished. Stay tuned!

With two cameras flashing, the boys were confused at which one to look at!
